Class Size: 5 to 10Prerequisites: Geometric diagnostic test prior to start of course(to determine if this course is appropriate for your child, or if another math course is more suitable )
Tuition: $50.00 per 4-Class SessionDuration: 1 hour
Student Provided Materials: Pencils ; compass & straight edge; lined and blank paper;calculator(or app on computer);
One Time Cost (to teacher) $20.00Cost Description: Printing handouts for class and homework
Homework: 35-40 minutes 4 days per week; 4 packets of homework will be assigned at each Tuesday class meeting. Homework packets are due via email to teacher at 9 p.m.(Wed, Thu, Fri, Mon). Monday night Skype session for homework review, if needed Student must also complete "Mastery Exercise"(take home test) after each 4-week module.
Skills: Complete homework assignments and email to teacher on schedule; work independently in classroom, when teacher is helping other students
Class Description: Full Geometry curriculum based on "Big Ideas Math Geometry": 1 Basics of Geometry 2 Reasoning and Proofs 3 Parallel and Perpendicular Lines 4 Transformations 5 Congruent Triangles 6 Relationships Within Triangles 7 Quadrilaterals and Other Polygons 8 Similarity 9 Right Triangles and Trigonometry 10 Circles 11 Circumference, Area, and Volume 12 Probability Occasional exercises using Desmos and Geogebra(free Internet math software) Occasional math puzzles to challenge students logical thinking
