Student Provided Materials: A notebook and a pencil. Weather-appropriate clothing including warm layers, rain jackets, rain boots, hats, gloves, and an extra pair of outdoor shoes that can get dirty or muddy.
Annual One Time Cost $ NoneDescription: Printing, use of art supplies like pencils, markers, and glue, disposable materials used in investigations, chemicals used in experiments, materials used for modeling earth science concepts, projects taken home such as bird feeders and flower pots.

We will investigate a variety of topics in the natural sciences through outdoor exploration, learning activities, experiments, nature games, stories, and art projects. Each week's class will focus on a different natural science theme including: using our senses in nature; living and non-living things; animal groups like mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and their life cycles; plant growth and native plants; discovering and studying invertebrates like insects, worms and snails; seasonal changes; the water cycle; landforms & geology; simple chemistry concepts like molecules, chemical reactions, or polymers (slimes); and much more! We will almost always go outdoors for a portion of every class, rain or shine.
