Students will run, jump, vault, climb, stabilize, balance, leap, roll, tumble, and move in every quadrupedal and bipedal manner imaginable to problem-solve while in motion. Classes will include obstacle courses, cardio and strength-building exercise, self-defense movements and philosophy, goal-setting, and a variety of individual and group games and explorations to expand self-knowledge and understanding of human anatomy. Obstacles and parkour will be the core of the curriculum to reinforce natural human movement vocabularies, developmental movement patterns, and integration of primitive reflexes (reflexes common to all primates). Classes will promote social-emotional development, creative self-expression, incremental goal-setting, and bilaterally symmetric (balanced) training. Students will learn that exercise optimizes not only physical prowess but also brain function; motion can change emotion; tenacity yields growth; and self-awareness enables self-confidence.
