In this class, you will be required to write perfect essays, but don't let that scare you!!! You work at your own pace. The class is focused on individual growth and achievement. By the end of the year, you may have completed between 10 and 14 perfect essays and an MLA report. You will work on an essay, changing it consistently with my guidance and red pen, and with other students input, until the final product is a perfect essay in grammar, form and content. This may take you two weeks or even a full month for each essay. Essay types will include expository, comparison, persuasive and narrative. You will also write an MLA report, learn how to footnote, cite, and format. In class, we will discuss how to write essays, review the homework assignments, and work on grammar as needed (your homework will reveal this). In completing this course, you will be ready for Running Start, SAT tests, or higher education. As a bonus, we will learn one or two new SAT words each week.
