Knitting is fun and exciting and offers endless creative opportunities. Children enjoy the sense of order and productivity that knitting provides. It is a stress-relieving and purposeful activity that promotes a sense of well-being and self esteem, and it has been shown to improve math and reading skills as well as focus. In this class students will learn the basic skills required to knit a number of small, portable projects. As the year progresses, everyone will work at their own pace, and projects will become more individual. We will focus on skill building and enjoying the process of knitting as well as the finished results.
